Christian Medical Scientists and Basic Health Foundation (CMESBAHF), also known as the National Association of Christian Basic Medical Scientists (NACBAMS), is a pioneering organization at the intersection of biomedical science and Christian faith.
Here are some milestones
- 2017: Founded as the National Association of Christian Basic Medical Science Students (NACBAMSS) at the University of Ilorin. It was a revamped version of an older Fellowship of University of Ilorin Christian Anatomy and Physiology Students (FUCAPS).
- Initial Years: Operated as an undergraduate fellowship for three years, promoting excellence and Christian values among up-coming biomedical scientists.
- Expansion: Pioneer members facilitated the expansion to include graduates pursuing post-graduate degrees or employed in private/government parastatals. This led to the name change from NACBAMSS to National Association of Christian Basic Medical Scientists (NACBAMS).
- Current Focus: CMESBAHF now functions as a major stakeholder in capacity development and deployment of health and biomedical scientists/technologists in Nigeria. The organization aims to address the challenges faced by graduates in biomedical sciences, contributing to national development and driving growth through a knowledge-based economy.
